Many ByHand brides and grooms are repeat customers. One of the great perks of the job is to follow our couples through the happy evolution that comes with marriage. Birth announcements, change of address cards, a son’s Bar Mitzvah, a daughter’s Sweet Sixteen, a business started, a parent’s fiftieth anniversary. Of course, many clients come to us mid-game. In every case it is a privilege to design the piece that reflects the joy behind the celebration.
In 2009, we worked with a client to create a ninetieth birthday party invitation for her dad, an extraordinary man who served as a pilot in World War II, a doctor in the decades after, a lifelong jazz fan, a kind husband and loving father. The invitation meant a great deal to her because she knew it would mean a great deal to him. It was important to us that the design convey not only his personality and many accomplishments, but also that he was a cherished by his children.
